about
I wrote this song about 9 years ago to a very special girl, Meadow, who touched my heart in a very profound way. Meadow was also the first person who ever told me that I had the potential to have a nice singing voice (she didn't say I was a good singer, let me be clear!)
In 2003, I went with Meadow to the Hollywood Bowl to see the band Coldplay, which turned out to be one of the most wonderful nights of my life. In the middle of that concert I made her a promise which was that one day I would sing this song, right there at the Hollywood Bowl, to her. Little more than a year later, tragically, Meadow left this world before I could fulfill that promise. It remains my intention, however, to one day still keep that promise, and I know that when I do, Meadow will be there in whatever way is possible, and she will be smiling down at me as she listens. All I can hope for now, is that when that day finally comes, I will be able to have reached the full potential that Meadow believed that I had, and that when I sing this song to her on that night, I sound good!
It has taken me 9 years to record this version of this song, and during that time I have been blessed enough to have had my heart touched once again in a very profound way by someone else. I would like to dedicate this song to this very special someone else, and to Meadow, and to my beloved 6 year old pup Little Jo, and to my beloved 15 and a half year old pup Mojo, who is also no longer with us. All four of their pictures are shown in the artwork that accompanies this song, with Mojo's picture (top right) having been taken on the day that I had to have him put to sleep - one of the saddest days of my life.
Over the last 10 or so years of my life, it is to these 4 individuals to whom I owe a lifelong debt of gratitude for each helping me in their own uniquely special ways in the process that would behoove all of us in this world to, on an ongoing basis, always strive to get better at, which is the process of "Learning How To Feel."
